Groin Kick (physical attacks in the street cont) - MMA Gyms in Illinois and Indiana

Many people view the groin kick (or knee kick)as the magic formula of street fighting. They believe that a solid kick to the groin immediately ends any fight and that such a kick is easy to perform. In fact, it is not so simple. Many times, a determined fighter keeps going even after a strong kick to the testicles. Also, the target must hit precisely if it is to work as desired. Nonetheless, the belief persists that the groin kick is the king of techniques. Accordingly, you must be prepared to defend it, given the likelihood that someone will attempt to use it if you get into a fight. To block the kick, simply raise your lead leg up with your front drawn back toward your buttocks, then draw it across in front of you, effectively blocking the groin. This move is similar to the defense of the roundhouse kick to the leg shown earlier.
